  • Three of us went on vacation together. I was carrying the main suitcase, which had everyone's clothes in it, while the other two only had backpacks. I carried it all the way from Altınoluk to Cunda using buses and public transportation, and kept carrying it while we walked around Cunda. I also had my own shoulder bag. When we were almost at the hotel, there was a steep uphill road and it was extremely hot, around noon. I was exhausted and asked them to carry the suitcase for the remaining 5-8 mi

  • of the road because I was completely exhausted. My phone overheated and shut itself down, so I couldn't even use maps to find my way to the hotel. I had to sit in the shade for about 30 minutes waiting for my phone to cool down and turn back on. They didn't wait for me and went to the hotel without me. When I finally made it there, neither of them asked what happened or whether I was okay. Later, they simply asked if I wanted to go get dinner, and when I stayed quiet, they still didn't ask what

  • you." Am I wrong for being upset and not wanting to talk to them? One more thing I want to add: when I asked them to help me, they told me, "You wanted to carry the suitcase, so keep carrying it," and they just kept walking. Out of anger, I said, "Where are you going? I'll cancel the hotel reservation since it's under my name," but I said that in the heat of the moment because I was exhausted and frustrated. When we argued this morning, they told me that I had threatened them and that I should h

  • properly to carry the suitcase. But I did ask them properly in the first place. I wasn't demanding anything-I was simply asking for help after carrying it for almost three hours.

  • Right_Pen_3241 They could not reach you by phone. And their reaction was to shrug and go on with their day? NTA. Also, they are not your friends.

  • Thismarno How did you ruin the vacation? NTA but don't sign up to be your friends' pack mule again.

  • uwupingu NTA. Why are you the only one carrying luggage when it contains everyone's clothes?

  • softballpants NTA, you should have thrown out their clothes on the side of the road to lighten the load

  • Glow_Ebb_ Next time make sure everyone is responsible for their own luggage. INFO- Who made the decision to have 3 friends share one suitcase?

  • Reasonable_Bar_6131 You are not wrong. They atah. They refused to help with the bag, went to the hotel without you and had zero concerns for what may have happened to you. These are not good friends. I'd buy a small suitcase on wheels for my own clothes for the trip back and let them deal with their own stuff. (Though I am very curious why you don't all have your own bags anyway)

  • Mission-Contract1715 Why didn't everyone just pack and carry their own stuff?

  • PutridSignature4927 OP Because our actual vacation destination is somewhere else, and we only came here for two days. Since carrying three suitcases on public transportation would have been difficult, and we could fit everyone's clothes into one suitcase, we decided to bring just one.

  • PNKAlumna Then you should have squeezed everyone's clothes into their own backpacks and/or wearable duffles so everyone could carry their own things. Decisions to brings one larger item that someone has to be in charge of will always lead to conflict in these high-stress situations.

  • mavwok My sister tried to pull this sh nearly 40yrs ago. We shared a bag going on holiday and I was the only one left to carry it because I was "stronger". I emptied her shout in the hotel and suggested she find a duffel bag as I wasn't carrying her stuff again. Funnily enough she coped fine on the return journey despite buying a load of tat in our destination. Do not pander to this nonsense. NTA
